Too old to think about sheep hunting anymore but big mule deer and elk particularly consumes alot of my daydreaming these days....

Nice bull! I fished, archery hunted the Unitas in Utah 2015-2016 seasons...lots of beetle kill but great country overall..

the west sure does have some of the most beautiful country, Those lottery tag systems in colorado make it tough to hunt though!

I wish my budget allowed sheep hunting....but I read an article once that explained it like this:

When a man is young enough to physically be able to sheep hunt he can't afford it......then later in life when he could afford it....he physically can't do it.

Of course there are exceptions....but I get exactly what the writer is saying......but I still dream of a sheep hunt.....But agree that chasing big mulies and elk is a more realistic goal......but hey, if you're gonna dream....dream big!

There are 5 units in Montana that a hunter can get a guaranteed sheep tag...2 rams killed in that unit and the hunt is over..requires a Sat phone to check in daily to find out if the hunt can continue or stop because the 2 rams have been taken...Could be a one day hunt or go on the entire set season...It is the toughest areas to sheep hunt and the sheep aren't plentiful...BUT, for a $ 1250.00 guaranteed sheep tag, a person can go hunt..I scouted Unit 501, North Yellowstone area...the tag was $750.00..then...If you want to learn more, search: "Montana Unlimiteds" Sheep hunting...YouTube has some info and 1 or 2 DIY hunts but finding out where the sheep were located will be tough....

Meater did a podcast on this. By far the toughest hunt around.
