Looking at getting into smoking, anybody got a suggestion on a good electric smoker to start out on. Tractor supply has a master built and lowes has a master forge and for a decent price but neither goes above 250 degrees which I have read you need around 325 - 350 for poultry. Any help would be appreciated.

Do not get an eletric smoker! Get a propane with an adjustable flame. Its what I use and I smoke pork, beef, checken, turkey, deer, well everything! Does very well. just make sure to soak your wood chips in water for a while prior to cooking. Also, I have cooked a whole turkey at 200 deg. f before. takes forever but as long as the internal temp gets to 165+ your good to go.
Mine is a Smokey Mountain Smoker brand

Amazon has a Masterforge Electric 30 in for $160. Read a lot of good reviews on it. Thinking about that one myself.

The Lowes master forge works great.

I have one of these....I now have five smokers on my deck. I love it because it is easy to operate and does a great job. I bought it for small cuts of meat and for when I did not have time to properly tend a wood fired smoker. I highly recommend it for someone just starting out.

I have a Masterbuilt that I chose because it uses wood chips instead of the round bricketts.I can fins chips at the local grocery and walmart.I love the set and forget.
I did have problems with the hinges on mine.I called Masterbuilt and they sent me a set free.I like customer service.
