Thinking about trying an electric fence around my garden this year. The deer wreck my garden almost every year. I have tried hair, soap, pie pans, and everything else I can think of. Any advice on putting the fence around it?
That's what I was thinking about doing. One strand for the jumpers and one for the crawlers. That's what we have to do with ours. It works great for keeping them out. We have 2 gardens- I buried a power wire in conduit to one and we use a solar charger on the other.
We just use 2 strands, one at about 36" the lower one about 18".
If you have enough room, a double fence will work great, they won't jump the first one if the other is within a few feet of the inner fence.
This guy used electric fence, but I have used just twine before and it works.
I used peanut butter and it works great for "fence bait"Ground it good, put something sweet on the line and when they go to lick it they'll get shocked. Easy training
I had seen some stuff about the 3D fencing. I wasn't sure if it really worked. I have plenty of room for it.
My dogs do a pretty good job. I had to fence the puppies out of the garden this year though.I use dogs to keep them out of my garden. Smaller pests will sneak in sometimes though.
