Good stuff, I wanted to get mine in teh ground late April or the first week of May like the article said but still am getting work done to prepare for it. Hopefully with expanding my plots and putting more in I will have a better run at the beans this year. Them deer love them things. Best attractant I have seen.

I really want some beans. My largest plot is just a touch over an acre. I'm hoping to have another one of matching size by season this year.

Could you broadcast winter wheat over top of the soybeans come first of september to increase the plots draw going into the rut?

Winter wheat has always been a fall back for me if I have a plot fail or need to plant something late or whatever. That stuff grows on rock :)

Got mine on the ground April 30. Unfortunately, I HAD to broadcast instead of drill due to the land clearing crew finishing their work at 6:30 and I was leaving back to Florida 10 1/2 hours later. I did throw up some exclusion cages, but as of Saturday, no growth. We did get a mild frost thursday morning, so maybe that will jump start some quick growth. this was Antler King's Red Zone, as I've posted, so I hope to get some growth on this small 1 1/2 acre sloped plot. I'm hoping for the best, but just glad to have a cleared area for future plots if this one failed. I checked on Milorganite and it was available at a local nursery for $14 for a 36lb bag. I believe I remember the QDMA book reccommending 300lbs per acre. TSC carries some stuff that is mostly garlic juice, but I think it might keep them out longer than we want. Birds eating the seed before germination and rooting are a bigger threat for me right now. Maybe I'll invent a robotic scarecrow with varying speeds of movement.
