That's called a jaw impaction and usually goes hand in hand with EHD. But also remember, EHD occurs in some deer every year. It is just big outbreaks that draw attention.

yes it is we killed a big 8 last year that looked like this year and game waden told us it was a survivor but glad we took it out of herd we where in giles county

Good catch Master Chief. I don't know what I was thinking when I said jaw impactions were a sign of EHD. They are caused by the Elaeophora nematode in association with arterial worm infections.

did you eat it???? :sick:

It is not known to be harmful to eat a deer with EHD, however, I would advise against it.
