I hunt east tn just getting an idea what going on.I have seen several mature bucks taken 1 on November25th and December 2nd nether bucks had black tarsal glands or swollen necks.Im getting confused as to whats going on.

Strange this season I seen no chasing

In Greene county I watched a buck breed a doe on I think the 15th of November. Have seen plenty of chasing since then. I missed a good buck this morning that was with two doe(had gun propped on a tree this past weekend and it fell on the scope. Was shooting about 8" low)also watched a doe trying to separate herself from her fawn on a different farm this morning. I think it's somewhat of a trickle rut but probably the most action I have ever seen in east tn

Sad to say, but he best is behind us. Most of my action was the week of thanksgiving. There is still plenty of hunting to go, but they'll shift from the girls to food and rest...then back to the ladies. Still a great time to bag a buck, but the chances go down significantly.

Like Solocam I had my chance, but my firing pin was not long enough, so I had a misfire.

Just keep hunting
 
think you might be right on that trickle rut thing.i saw some chasing one day then nothing the next. bucks paying no attention to doe.then chasing again some of the older buck not looking interested.then bam there back on.Just seems a little different then i had seen.Oh well i will be in the woods the rest of the week maybe something will happen.Good luck to you all

If one guy sees chasing and or kills a buck he screams the rut is on, if one guy is hunting bad ground and doesn't see much he blames it on a bad rut...same thing every year from Tennessee to Illinois. The rut happens every year, at the same time period. You just have to have a plan, hunt smart and hunt good ground with good bucks.
