Killed a good 9 sunday near Hiwassee river in Meigs. He wasn't in rut. Had two more deer about 20 yards to his left but he cared less about them. He was walking slow and eating. This was at 730am

The young bucks are feeling it. However, I'm still seeing lots of doe family groups. It should crank up any day now.

I've seen the same basket 8 in the same pattern since last Wednesday...still a day or two off, but there are more deer being taken, so it's defiantly heating up. Plenty of tree time is the rule.

Simple man
I hunt knoxville as well
I haven't seen any chasing, usually happens in about anther week
Have you seen chasing or sign

Thanks

Im hunting on a family farm in Marion County and me and my dad both shot bucks opening day of rifle and neither of them were chasing and didn't even seem to be in the rut phase

I hunt Anderson County North of knoxville. I am seeing young buck but no shooters chasing yet. Usually doesnt get wide open for another few days. Should happen any day now.

I hunt Jackson county and the first 2 weeks of November I had a lot of activity in my area ( small bucks cruising, scrapes everywhere and a lot of movement). Now seems it has slowed a lot and bucks disappeared and the does are in pairs. Hope it kicks in hard soon.

I'm in Campbell county and I've seen some of the small bucks chasing/trailing since the weekend before juvy. Still not hot just yet, but getting good.

In and around the Knoxville area, 30 mile radius, its wide open and has been for about a week now, hope it holds for another week! Some huge bucks getting killed.

Hunted from 6:30 to 10:00 this morning and things are changing...had four does come thru at 7:30...nothing going on with them yet. Then I had a button buck come thru by himself, he was with his momma three days ago. Poor guy came by twice, 1 hour apart, bleating the whole time. Also saw a does trotting pretty fast, so I assume she had one pushing her, too thick to see.

My best guess is its getting hot or already on around the north cumberland plateau.
