I don't get to hunt much due to work and a newborn. I have been out 6 times this year and have just been seeing does. That's all I have on my trail camera too. The bucks that I was getting pics of have disappeared it seems. Anyone seeing any rutting action in east tn? Just curious if anyone has been rattling or grunting and if you have been having any luck. I plan on hunting hard this week.

I have found that peak breeding happens around 2nd week of Dec around south Knox county. As soon as I get back to TN I'm going to hit west TN thru thanksgiving weekend then get back to east tn and catch the action heating up there. Best of luck to you!

I've had to work all weekend but the report from my brother was that he saw a couple young bucks yesterday. Both were with does. He said they weren't doing any chasing but they were grunting some. I have always seen the most action here around Thanksgiving.

Around wartburg we have had active scrapes for over two weeks now. My brother in law killed a buck last week chasing a doe, another friend killed an 11 point yesterday on the trail of a doe. He missed the first shot, and the buck would not leave the doe. Killed it on the second shot. I came out of the woods yesterday into a clear cut and had a buck chasing a doe 50 yards away into and out of the clear cut. Several bucks that have been killed in the last two weeks have had blown tarsals and the necks are fully swollen.

Im coming in to visit family around thanksgiving and will be hunting morgan county. Finally found a great spot last year and i can not wait to get there.hopefully the big boys are still doing their thing.

By the way didnt know there were so many morgan county guys on here, have the been many nice ones killed there this year?

I have two places to hunt, one is in bradley county and one is in hamilton county. The bradley county place has a lot of rubs and not a whole lot of scrapes, but the ones that are there are big (3-4 ft around). I hunted yesterday morning on the ground by a bedding area, I had 8 does walk by me at 10 feet. I was down wind and they looked at me and just kept on rollin. Not a buck in site. About two weeks ago I started getting mid day pick of several shooter bucks, but that has gone away. Not sure what that means, but when you have that many does come by and not a buck in the group, I couldnt believe it. On the other hand Hamilton county area, the deer sign was non existent. But about two weeks ago I started getting new bucks and mid day picks of them. That has now went away there also. Tonight my wife and I went to hamilton county to ease the hunting pressure from the bradley county area and saw a small buck more like nagging then chasing, but he was running here a little bit. Last year Hamilton county was hot the second week of november. Bucks were chasing hard, but this year there is hardly any movement at all.

The 10 pt i shot yesterday in loudon county was in full rut.. He was moving along a ridge with his nose to the wind looking for a doe that had passed a few min before. His tarsal glands were dripping

I think its on more so in the north than se Tennessee. Every doe I see has yearlings in my neck of the woods. Im on stand right now and have counted 10 deer all does and yearlings. Friday I passed on a descent 7 and a small 8 and neither were chasing, just browsing along.

Not even seeing small bucks chasing in Blount....does with yearlings. I did see a mature 6pt fighting in cases cove Sunday.got to hear him snort and wheeze as well.reallycool
