This buck did the same as the buck i shot a couple weeks ago. Shot him about 30 minutes before dark. This season has been a season of firsts for me in my 37 years of deer hunting

#1 first time I ever killed decent buck in the evening. I'm not.uch of an evening hunter. I've killed good bucks from first light through about 3:30. Never in the late evening.

#2 First time i ever shot a decent buck in a field. I've killed several does, small bucks over the years in fields. I missed a good buck a few years ago in a field.

#3 Least amount of time in the field in my deer hunting life this year -except for year my daughter was born.

#4 By far, the earliest I ever tagged out
