East TN bear huntin

I am a college student at UT. I've done a lot of deer hunting but I am looking for some advice on where to bear hunt. Are there any good areas or public land that I could check out? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

I bet I have seen 100 guys running around Henrytown Rd in Sevier county this week. I had the opportunity to hunt up in the Glades and didn't have time to go. Hope to go in Dec.

Nice bears guys. I was not fortunate enough to bag one this past week. It was my first time bear hunting though. Not to mention I'm the only guy on the mountain not running hounds. I did encounter 4 throughout the weekend though.

Nice bears. Handgunner, you weren't the only one not running hounds bud. I promise. I saw more "standers" on the last hunt than I've ever saw before. It worked out great too as everyone seemed to communicate and worked together and a young boy got his first bear.

I saw in the Polk County News a 7 or 8 year old with his first bear. I was the only one I saw that was not running hounds though. I am sure there were others out there though.

monday the 4 day season opens for hounds .most of the bear hunters i know don't care one bit for someone new to show up.The older guys don't won't to kill them they just like running there hounds if they kill one there done for the year .if you go to horse creek park off hwy 107 you will run in to someone
