Saw three does in a corn field yesterday about 45 mins. before dark and a dang nice 8 pointer walking towards them. Anyone else seeing any evidence of the bucks beginning to act a little squirrely?
Shot a spike running a doe this morning. He was grunting his head off. This cold front has the young ones eager. Had two other small bucks - 5-6 - pointers out of range earlier and they were smelling where the doe had walked, but not chasing.
Had two does come in late eve, as cautious as I've ever seen does to be. They were as cautious as late season or more. They eased along behind me, and as they were easing over the ridge a buck came trottin over from higher up the ridge and ran them on over out of sight. Pretty good action going on it seems.
My cousin killed a nice 8pt Friday morning. Had a bigger buck come thru making scrapes just out of range then he grunted at him and the 8pt he killed ran under him
