Almost ready to set some plants into my homemade earthboxes.

I know the water chamber is supposed to be filled, but should I also water the soil through the surface this one time?

BEFORE you put in your fertilizer strip you can water the soil.

Thanks. Finally figured it out. I have made a few homemade earthboxes and am looking forward to seeing the results. Two cups of fertilizer seemed like a LOT of fertilizer for two tomato plants, but I'm going with what they recommend.

I'm doing a couple of tomato boxes, one pepper box, and even a sweet corn box.

Next step is doing it completely organic.
