Keeps gettin closer and closer! Food plots or hardwoods for mornin and or afternoon. What combo do you prefer from your past experiences...

That depends on the area you hunt. For example, I do not have any crop fields on the ground I hunt, but I do intercept deer in the hardwoods and crp fields coming from food sources that are not on the property. Now when the white oaks start falling, the hardwoods I hunt are the primary food source. If I had some crop fields, I would hunt them in the afternoon.

Ill be hunting on a flat with lots of mature red and white oaks. The flat is the end of a secondary point. The rest of the secondary point is in 10-15 ft tall planted pines. So I have a worn out trail to the front of me going left to right or vice versa, 30 yards of harwoods then pines to my right and hardwoods to my left. Most deer come from the hardwoods and meander through to the pines to bed of a morning. Of a evening they come from the pines and head into the hardwoods to feed on acorns. Some just travel the edge.
