I am very impressed with the way the deer have been hitting mine and it has me thinking....has anyone ever planted this as a summer forage plot...will they touch it ? When do you usually plant it ? I have been trying several years to get a stand, but it seems that apparently waiting until Sept is too late.

Never seen any interest in it prior to October. Gets the most usage after it's hit with a frost.

It will generate in the spring but be short lived....it's a cool season annual. Not worth the cost.
