any body ever sprayed any out of a paint gun thout bout learning how to do this myself local guy charges around $200 for a rifle and ive got bout 25 id like to do figure I may be a little better off learning myself any info appreciated thanks

I use a small automotive touch up gun. If you know how to set up the gun and spray properly it works just fine. Of course I am an auto paint and body guy so it comes easier to me.

I've got one rifle duracoated, and it holds up ok but if you hunt hard it will scratch and flake in certain areas.

If you are going to go to the trouble of learning to spray and you have 25 to do, I would just learn to do the Cerakote, that stuff is flat out amazing as far as being wear resistant.

Yep. You'll come out better in the long run.

I paint them with Brownells Alumahyde II. They turn out great.

I have used Alumahyde on a couple projects & it is awesome....

Follow the application directions & get the metal & paint pretty warm before applying.. I used a hairdryer to get the barrel almost hot...
