I got a new climber yesterday and thought I'd give it a try when I got home. So when I got home I got it out of the box strapped it to the tree and went a climbing, got about 30 ft up and set down and bam my foot rest fell to the ground. In all the excitement of having a new stand I didn't tie the foot and seat together. So with my wife gone and my phone in my truck I set in the tree of my back yard until 10:30 last night. When my wife finally found me she had to get her brother to come get me down. I felt like an idiot when he showed up because I had to go get him last year in the woods for doing the same thing, but I gave him H*LL for being a moron and not tying the two together. So he'll never let me live this down.

that's funny right there. I know if it was me to my last breath my wife would laughing at me about it. Better in the back yard then in the woods without a cell phone. sometimes the stupid tax we pay is not all that bad as to what it could have been.

Been there done that? My buddy made a video on his phone with narration.
It was hilarious, and trust me..... He showed everybody!
 
I bought a new two man ladder stand for me and my teenage son. When we got it back to the house I assembled it and gave my boy his safety harness. A little while later I heard someone yelling out front. I walked out to find my ladder laying on it's side and my kid dangling from the big maple tree out front. After letting him swing for a while I didn't know whether to use him as a combination bag or a pinata. He still doesn't like to talk about it.

Wonder if anyone locally will give you H*LL? Hummmmm hehehehe

Glad you didnt fall though! I have done the same thing. I was hunting down on Browns Mnt. Platform went down about 15 feet and caught on the tree. The phase red belly club. Yeah I had it along with red groin, red thighs!!!
