We use 1-2 Duck Thangs at most blinds we hunt. We hunt with the guys that own the company from time to time.

if you look up duck thang on their site it shows them pretty good but maybe you need a better close up

l love mine have had it two yrs, its ran every day.ours will usually run flawlessly, sometimes it may hang, just reverse it. we do have to adjust for riseing or falling water levels. dog swims through it no problem, and ducks finish on top of it. we also run ice eaters in the area it's in, never freezes. a bad boy

I was just looking at those the other day. Good grief they are expensive! From the videos I've watched they look dang good. For those of you that use them is there a noticeable difference in finishing ducks?

I really think so. We run ours from daylite to quitting time every day. We have ducks try and land, and many do land inside it. If you have water that rises up and down you have to adjust it, but main thing is to keep band level. after using it a while, it becomes really easy. now, I hunt flooded timber, buckbrush, and the water is fairly clean. Trash could be a problem in some spots. band is very tough, and believe it or not, if it breaks, o degrees, you just super glue it back in 10 seconds. mine has broken once in two yrs. Expensive, yes, but so real .

How hard would it be to duplicate the wires and spreaders?

Nevermind, I see the decoys attach to the belt via a tether. I was thinking it was a wire like the spreaders.

Yes they are worth every penny. You can build something cheaper but you will have more issues and always be fighting with it. I have seen several home made rigs but none come close to this in working consistently.

Also the motor is $500 range a lone of you price it outside of this kit. It is fully sealed and will last a long time.
