Duck breast and rice

Rice breast or Sarcocystis. Its caused by a parasite and is usually picked up when ducks are dabbling on mud flats. It is technically safe to eat but not very appetizing to look at. Used to kill a lot of ducks with it in the Dakota's back in the early 90s but have only seen it occasionally since then.

Some years I see it more common then others. This year I cleaned 250+ ducks and only saw 1 with it.

I'm not sure of the exact location but best I remember it was killed very close to where you hunt.

killed 1 in east tn few years ago. was told to destroy it and not let any other animas get it as it can be passed on through their feces. I sure as @#$% wouldn't eat it!

I have killed several woodies with it. A few years ago, it seemed like everyone we cleaned had it.
