Was going out on "Doe Patrol" needing to shoot some does on a farm I have permission to hunt on. It is in the CWD zone and they are looking to gather samples.

Wouldn't you know what happens when you go looking for a doe.

Big boy came out and offered a 120 yard shot at 6:30AM. One I just couldn't pass up.

Thank you Lord!

Congrats!
What is your protocol now? Business as usual, butcher and separate until results come back?

I took him to a TWRA check site, was told he was the 16th deer they had tested that morning. I then gave the meat to a buddy that plans to quarter and debone and will freeze till I get the results back. I took the head in for a Euro mount.

There have been 2 other deer taken from this farm this year a 3 1/2 year old buck and a doe. Both those tested positive.
