Drop away?

Do you guys put your drop away cord through your string or just tie it on? Got to have mine done and i was wondering. Guess i got to go to bass pro tonight

When installing a cable driven dropaway, it should always be placed between the cable and then served in placed to make sure it stays put.

I disagree. Especially if you bow has a roller guard that it served. You can just tie the cord around the cable with a not like a D loop and the serving will hold it. If your cable isn't served, you can serve a little spot and do the cord the same way. I prefer either of the methods above instead of splitting the cable because you can change the cord or rest without needing a press.

Ditch the cable driven drop aways and go to a Limbdriver. I had a QAD HDX that was excellent until I started getting fletching contact. There was a timing issue as a result of the cord running to the cable getting out of whack. If served into the string it requires a bow press to correct. A limb driven rest can be fixed in the field or at home without a bow press. Asides from a biscuit, the Limbdriver is pretty dang fool proof.

Yes, you can do it that way, but I want that extra little bit of security knowing that there are two things holding the cord in place�pressure of the string and serving on top of that. :)

I went to a limb driven rest so I don't have to mess with it anymore and can quickly re-time the rest if need be. ;)

I have went limb driven as well. I never had a problem with the cord slipping and never liked the idea of having to mess with pressing the bow to change/adjust something.

Use google i bought an apache and learned myself.on serving knots and whola i got me rest working in no time at all

I'll bite.....wanna explain this hypothesis that is causing some dropaway users' bows to be out of tune? Does it also effect timing with a peep sight installed in the string?

Went to bass pro Big J's daughter Alexis put a peep in it and tied the drop away for me

I just went from a whisker biscuit to a Trophy Ridge Revolution drop away,Didnt think I would like the dropaway, I was pleasently Suprised!!!

Seen the cord put thru the down cable, served or not, and put on with the clamp that some come with. Don't make a hill of beans difference either way both do the job. Its personal preference. If you put it thru the down cable all that needs to done is to cut the etra off and melt a knot in it. A bows cable has enough tension on it to keep it in place, serving is just that little extra. Never heard of it messing with the timing, but if it does then you got a looker that belongs on some competition line and is not meant to be used in the dirty, bumpy, nasty hunting woods.
