it dont take long for them to turn red. instead of needle and thread i use 80lb mono fishing line cut at an angle with a button at the bottom. the line is stiff enough to sew them if you have some that weight.
also if you work with those bare handed dont rub your face or eyes even after you wash your hands. i bout put blisters on my eyelids last night.
