Hunting the woods of East TN means you WILL have to drag if you hunt any distance off the road.
I too pull the front feet up behind the head, put a rope around the neck (does) and cut a 12" sapling about a foot long to wrap rope around. I also occasionally hook them to my safety harness at the waist. The trick for either method is getting the rope short enough to have the head slightly off the ground, makes them slide along much easier. Also field dressing them immediately as a gutted deer will slide 2x easier than a whole one. I owm 4 wheelers, golf carts, tractor, etc. But none will do you any good in most the areas we hunt.
