Well with season opening tomorrow I am very excited as many of yal are. I hope all of yal a good safe hunt with hopefully many many birds. Be careful follow the laws and follow gun safety good hunting to everyone

I went to Bark Camp Barrons yesterday. Some parts of the field were duds, some had good action but it never really picked up like we'd normally expect on opening day.

I was in what would have been a great spot because of the birds flying toward me but there were a lot of hunters in front so most of the birds either got shot or turned around before getting in my range. I shot at 9 birds, only hit 2 but I had such a good time.

I definitely plan to go a few more times before the end of the month.

I live about 15 minutes from the barrons. Use to live right beside it. I lived in the house with the 2 car garage and paved driveway. I still run dogs there from time to time but game wardens gripe during hunting season if you stand near the road ways trying to get a shot so its almost pointless.

I was there! I managed 1 shot in 2 hours and called it quits. I don't know if you was on the same side but I was the guy with the deer cart loaded down.

We walked straight in from the entrance and walked way down almost to the treeline in the back of the field. Most of the action was toward the pond surrounded by trees. Those guys get out there at 7-8 in the morning to get those spots. Everyone around us had 0-3 birds.

The field looked great and there certainly was plenty of food but not as many birds as you'd expect on opening day.

doves were scarce on opener for me. Field that had dozens a few weeks ago were grown up to 3 foot tall soybeans (planted late) and I saw only 3 doves and fired no shots. I think I might know where I will be going next time, hopefully sunday evening I will be hunting.
