I have about a 3.5 acre field I can make a foot plot for deer/turkey or dove.

I've never dove hunted, but i'm having a hard time to find a field to start. I've been looking how to make my own dove field.

I have planted this before in Winterwheat soybeen, winter peas and turnips for deer and turkey, but would like to start adding in stuff for dove.

Right now, 1 to 1.5 acre is a garden, corn tomatoes, okra, etc.....

In about 2 weeks I was planning to start my fall plot with winter wheat, peas and other stuff.

So, how what do I plant for dove? And when? Is it to late to even start this year?

Lots of questions, just don't know where to start.....

I don't care if it is not ready for opening day, but 2nd season would be nice.

Too late, unless you top sow winter wheat for a fall plot. And you can only plant it one time, so I'd suggest pretty four days before dove season. For second season, not a whole lot would come to seed before that. I have had some of my best small shoots bushogging ragweed and johnson grass and hunting the strips. If you've ever looked in a dove's stomach, it's mostly weed seed anyway.

University of Tennessee ag extension service has a wonderful food plot manual that will discuss this. I don't know how to put in a link but if you google it I'm sure it won't be hard to find.
