Are they worth it? The cheap ones from wally world. If so, then how many should I use and where should I place them?

The cheap ones? I've had mild success with them on barbed wire fences and on dead tree limbs.

A mojo dove is awesome.....IF you are in a field with few shooters or NO shooters directly across from you. At times the mojo works so well all the shots will be at birds 6 feet off the ground offering no shots if you are in a field with others due to shooting low birds.
Dove decoys are great! Buy a decoy with a hole on top and take a fishing reel and tie the line to the decoy. Use fishing pole to throw decoy over a power line and let the weight of the fishing pole keep the decoy snug against the bottom of the line. It kinda looks wierd with the decoy sitting under the line, but to a dove, its like crack. All you need is one or two, but one works fine.
I never had much luck putting them in trees, on the ground or on low fences, but if you can get'em on a power line, you will pull about every bird to your location.

Mojo Doves is the thing to go with, but what was already mentioned is that it creates a lot of low birds. We use at least 2-3 on the field we hunt (one on each end) and we lay the regular decoys on the ground around the Mojo Dove. Out of the 20 or so guys that hunts this field every year, no one goes away unhappy or empty handed.
i have a mojo & have not seen it bring many doves to my part of the field,i put it out & about 6-8 of the clip on decoys,have made false tree ect.still im a sucker for it as its the only thing i see flying for hrs at a time :)

Well thanks for the advice. I can't say the mojo would be the best idea unless I get into some wheat field by myself (will be hunting public land). The WMA has 2 dove fields, but to avoid the crowds, I know of some other wheat fields I could try out as well.

Rukidden? u must hunt the same field I do because it is the only field I've ever seen the fishin pole trick used. U do Taxidermy?,,,mojo,s work and work good if u use more then 1 and they can be seen.
