Went to Douglas today with a friend of mine. We caught maybe 50 and brought 22 home. I caught more crappie today than I've ever caught, total, in my life. Caught all of them on Berkley power grubs in about 10' of water. The fish were suspended at around 5'.

Crappie fishing on Douglas has been great all Winter, congrats on some good eating!

Douglas is hotter than its been in several years. I've probably saw 2500 crappie since March 1. Nina Creek has probably had 10000 crappie taken out since November. One day in mid Feburary there was 129 bank fishermen there at one time.

The water was 52 last Wednesday. No bobber or trolling. Just casting 1/8 ounce lead head with most of a 3" Berkley power grub. I bit maybe a half inch off the grub to get the hook closer to the tail. A guy I work with took his dad six times in the last two weeks. Brought home their limit everyday. They were trolling.

Trrolling, tight lining, float fishing, or spider rigging it doesn't seem to matter. People are even catching crappie jigging 1/2-1 oz flies and minnows fishing for sauger and walleye.
