My wife and I killed two birds with double beards this morning. By the way, she sat by herself and called her own bird.

I think there may be propensity for multiple bearded birds in certain areas. The place I hunted in Hardeman County always had them. I killed one with 9 beards one morning. Congrats on yours.
 
We have killed several with multiple beards over the years including one with 5. We also have a lot of bearded hens on our place. A WO told me that the genetics of having the bearded hens helps the growth of the beards in the toms.
 
That's awesome. I've yet to get my wife out after turkeys yet, just deer. I'd love to see her get into it that much. Great job to you both!

My wife's Dad, a WWII veteran carried her fishing from the time she could walk. When I came along she picked up hunting. Her side of the trophy room is as full as mine. She loves deer hunting, but when she called in and killed the first tom on her own several years ago she decided that was the biggest outdoor thrill of all.

Just anecdotal numbers, but in my experience about 1 in 25 birds has multiple beards.... so 1 in 25 times 1 in 25 is 1 in 625. Ofc getting any double isn't that easy to start with :)

I'm sure the prevalence of multiple beards varies with locales....some areas are more common than others
