but my wife bought this for me on my bday. out of all my rod and reels i starting to think this is the best one for float casting, skipping light jigs under docks and for the micro cranks i use sometimes.

back in the day i used a big arse 404 or 808 in bushes with jig n pig for bass. it worked pretty good with the drag all the way down.

i believe these newer reels has a better drag and built a bit better.

Hard to beat a Zebco
seems like it. z03 pro with medium action rod. pulled 3, 4-5 pound lmb out of some stake beds before they tangled me up. then adjusted the thumb drag on the fly. lost the first at the bank and landed the other two. i like those 1/8 crappie mag jigs because the hooks bend really easy if it gets hung. 10lb mono. (i thought fish dont like mono lol)

caught a few scattered crappie in spawning color but its not right yet but close.

two were exactly 1" from lmb tarp.
