Collared recognized dogs get released. If I have some handy Ill tie some surveyors ribbon to their collar. One dog got a bag of garbage he was eating tied to his collar ! (he got in the snare I set up to catch the "raccoon" that was getting into our trash.

Other dogs without a collar are a judgement call. Wild ferals get the coyote treatment.
Others either get released or sent to the pound.
If you have caught 4 dogs this season, you either have a bunch of locals who let their dogs run wild, or garbage humans dumping their dogs in the country.

I have caught dogs 5 and 6 miles from any houses with collers on them. I release them and haven't seen them anymore

Wow! I don't trap but have great respect for those of you who do. Glad to hear you are releasing the dogs. It's a shame that people let their dogs run as much as they do. They are irresponsible to say the least.
