Which dp traps were you using? The traps with a push pull trigger will result in some unwanted catches.

You can catch cats in pull only as well.

that's why they're not called "pet proof"

But you can avoid cats by not using bait they're attracted to.

I avoid fish smells in my dp's and catch few possums and no cats.
