Dog on priate land?

Even though the dog cant read a posted sign,you can.. better call before you go..
Back in the 60's we were rabbit hunting and the beagles ran a rabbit across the fence line onto some posted property. My dad walked up to the fence and stopped.
The owner of the land came out and ordered dad to get the dogs off her property. He told her the only way he could do that was to enter and pick them up. She said stay off her property so we did. She called the Game Warden. He showed up and checked the guns and licenses and told the property owner the dogs had a right to be there.
Eventually, she let us enter and pick up the dogs. No way they were leaving on their own as long as that rabbit was still there.
