A bolt action .22 with a wood stock, that either has a tube magazine or a flush mount detachable magazine. I can't stand a little magazine hanging down from the gun like on some.

CZ's are almost flush, good wood and accurate. Spend $20 more and you can have a 2 ld. trigger with it.

There may be others but CZ has one with a 5 round mag. that don't hang down

Marlin Model 60 is still around. Tube feed, some kind of wood stock. I got a laminated stock from Boyds for mine.

I like the looks of that Marlin but it didn't show it with a wood stock, that I saw anyway. CZ may be the way I have to go.

TNRifleman-the stock from Microfit, how would you describe that purchase? My one and only time with Microfit did not go very well at all.

My CZ 452 Lux isnt quite flush, but it doesn't stick out enough to bother me. It's a pretty sweet shooter... especially after a little work on the trigger.

I have 2 Remington 504's, one with a heavy barrel and one with a sporter barrel. They both shoot really, really well. They don't still make them but you can find them on gunbroker, although they sell for a bit more than they did when new. The standard 6rd magazine is flush fitting. You can also use 10rd 597 mags in them (with a 5min modification to the mag) and they only stick out about 1/2" below the stock.

Remington still makes the 547 Classic but it's expensive. It's going to cost your local gun shop about $1,050 to get it then they have to add their profit and tax, but it has a Shilen barrel with match dimensioned chamber and a 3lb trigger. It's a Remington Custom shop gun and if my 40X-Rangemaster is a good indicator of all their work, you'd be getting one heck of a good 22 rifle.

Another good option would be to look for a used Kimber 82 on Gunbroker. I have one and I've yet to see a production 22 rifle that equals the workmanship and feel of it. I'm talking about the Sporter model, not the blocky looking target Model 82.
