Doe running around wild with no bucks chasing them

I hunted in a new place on my property this morning that I hadn't hunted all year and I seen probably 15 different does running around crazy like there was a buck chasing but each time it would just be a couple of does running by. One even had her tongue out panting. Can someone smarter than me give me an Idea of why they are doing this. Some of the does was the same ones running back from the same area they ran in to.

There was probably a buck somewhere near. He probably just didn't make himself known to you.

That's what I was thinking. He just knew better than to come out of the thickets into the hardwoods.

Sometimes does run around and play in weather like we had this morning. I think every doe in the area was in open fields this morning. I for sure counted 40 between within a mile. Probably happy to not be bothered by the bucks.

Same thing happened to me Thanksgiving day. Doe ran right up in front of me tongue hanging out, she stopped looked back then walked out into a crp field. I was on go! Thought sure a buck was about to pop out. She walked a few yards then turned around and went back toward the area she came from, walking calmly, strangest thing I'd ever seen. I texted my son as this happened in the direction he was hunting, I figured he'd shoot any time but no buck ever showed.

The does were in estrous. They're spreading scent trying to entice a buck to join them.

A buck will run a doe/s, conclude they aren't in heat, drop off of them and pick up another, and then start all over again. This may happen several times. In short, a buck may run himself ragged and even though he may actually be on a hot doe at the time, he may simply have to stop and catch a quick breather. I've seen them do this standing there panting like a dog while the doe runs on ahead, sees the buck isn't following her, and then comes back to pick him up. This is one of the few times I've heard a doe calling to a buck non-stop until he either comes to her or she goes back and prods him into the chase again.

Getting ready to come in, surprised there wasn't a buck busting on them, I would hang out there the next few days!

Well I shot an 8 point in the same area yesterday afternoon. So i'm guessing he is the one that was causing all the fuss. That or he got sucked in by an estrous doe. I would post a picture if I knew how on here. Thanks for all the advice guys.

I saw them running wild this morning. No bucks but does chasing does and just jumping around.
