I know I know before you say it, hunt Unit L. I don't get many chances to hit middle tennesee due to work, but one thing that burns me up is not having the chance to take does for the freezer. I am not going to shoot small bucks to fill my freezer and ruin my chance at a mature deer to be proud of, but the closer to the end of the season the more trigger happy I get. I just want to shoot three does to feed the family. Got one last Saturday and now I am done until I either get the chance at a mature buck, get to middle tennessee around Christmas with my uncle, or I get to the two weeks in December when I can shoot a total of 1, yes 1 doe. Ridiculous. Didn't get a shot with a bow or I would have put more in the freezer then. Sorry for the rant, just had to vent.

I hear you, been in the same boat most of my life. But remember, if everybody who rifle hunted could shoot three does, in short order there might be very few deer of either sex or age. It is frustrating, though.

It is frustrating, but there is absolutely no way the unit b herd could withstand a regulation like that. Imagine the massacre that would occur on opening weekend of gun season if everyone were allowed three does a year. The way the regs are set up now, at least we have an opportunity at does during each season for most of unit b.

You have to keep in mind that many hunters do not even go to the woods until opening weekend of gun. The orange army would devastate the herd in a single season if they were allowed 3 does with a rifle.

You have to put the herd health in front of filling the freezer.

Some areas might not have enough deer for high gun harvests.

If you need meat that bad, might want to look for other sources.

All good and valid points, just getting frustrated. Archery wasn't a good time for me, that's always when I am slammed at work and only get a total of 5 days hunting. I will just feel blessed I have a couple of places to hunt and be blessed with whatever I get this year.
