doe got away

shot a doe this morning about 30 yards. she was quatering away pretty steep. shot her right behind her last rib into her chest. got about 12 inches of penetration and the arrow broke off in her about 8 inches. good blood at first, bright red. then the blood went to drops. tracked her for almost 3 hrs and about 2 miles is seemed like and run out of blood. i hate to shoot one and not find it. it sucks. was using meat seeker broadheads. anyone else using them. if so any problems with them. seems like the last few i have shot with them have had no blood trails.

The way your explaining it its a dead deer . Maybe you got on her trail a little too soon and bumped her ?

we gave it about half an hour before we started tracking her. i thought that would be enough with the shot placement. maybe not. just makes me sick to not find one. bout to go buy me some muzzys though. bout over this mechanical broadhead business.

yea my buddy shot one today with those broadheads and had decent blood to begin with then it went to drops then nothing. searched in a grid for several hours couldnt find nothing.

I switched back to muzzy's two years ago and never looked back . They will all kill deer with perfect shot placement . I just prefer a BH that will continue to grind and cut if I don't get a complete pass through . I have also started waiting a minimum of 45 minutes before I even get down . And an hour before I start looking , unless I watched it fall or am certain I heard it fall . That is just my rule of thumb . Sorry about you losing one , it happens to everyone at some point . Keep your head up and go kill one .
