I left work today early. I had grass seed to lay in my backyard and I figured maybe if I could get it done quick enough I could sneak in a hunt. I finished with the seed about 10 till two and I almost said, I'm not gonna go. But then I realize that this was really my last chance to bow hunt this year. So I showered up got my stuff together and jumped in the truck. I only had one stand I could hunt for the wind. I got there and got settled at 3:05. And then I sat there for about two hours watching absolutely nothing but acorns fall. Right around five I heard something on the trail that I came in on and it was a deer. She came down and I thought for sure I was busted but this nose jammer stuff seems to work pretty good and she just kept coming. About the time she got to the side of my tree she looks up and notices me up there and starts head bobbing and then walks away into some thick stuff. But another deer comes down the trail right behind her and the little one walks out in front of me and I see it's a button buck. He Starts eating acorns and after about three or four minutes she comes back down the trail walks all the way down it and gets out in front of me. She put her head behind a tree and when she did I got on the scope and she froze up because I guess she heard me move but it was too late I shot her and she took off and I knew I hit her good. She bolted down the trail and disappeared. Then all the sudden I see a deer running up behind me about 30 yards behind my tree and I'm thinking what is going on here and I'm watching this other deer and as I'm watching her she just falls on her face and I realize that's my deer. I got down and got over to her and she was actually still alive so I put another arrow in her and finished her off.

I guess sometimes it's just meant to be because everything that could've went wrong did and it still worked out. I told my wife I would be home in time to let her go do what she wanted to do So I hurried up and Field dressed her and got her back to the truck. When I got home I got her on my table to butcher and realized I hadn't taken any pictures so I apologize for the Bad picture where she's already in the butchering process. That's my looney son photo bombing in the background.
