went out to one of my favorite stands on Priest when the weather gets cold. It seems every time i go here and it is cold I see deer. Normally I see deer by 7:30 but this morning they were running late. I actually got frustrated, because until this morning I had only seen 5 deer total, granted I had shot one. Well at 8:40 I hear a twig snap to my left and there is a deer almost under me at 10-12 yds. It was a smaller doe, and I thought about it, but then I saw movement behind her and saw another doe that looked bigger. I waited till that one came up and shot her at 12 yds. She quartered to me at the last second, but I just shot in front of her front shoulder and double lunged her. I heard her crash within 50 yds.

I am liking these cyclone broad heads. I have shot two deer and they have not made it very far. This was my furthest track at 50 yds and the blood trail was one that Ray Charles could have followed. Here is part of the blood trail. It actually got better after this.

Here she is in the woods. That is the exit wound.

Congrats and good eye! I always pay attention to the does' hocks; those shot and those I'm watching walk around. It's still too early here to expect seeing any darkened.
