From random smples,it seems I hve 6 to 8 inches of topsoil/loose dirt.Then I ha,ve layer of clay ,about 3 to 4 inches then chirt.So is this enough to establish clover as a year round food source?Thts my plan,but I wonder if it will work?
 
Send in samples and tell them what you are going to plant. They will tell yoou how much of fertilizer and lime you need. Go by ntheir levels and you will be fine.
 
From what I have seen you will be fine. I think for a few years spraying for grasses is what you will wrestle with the most. Your bottom plot has the potential to be a prime food source. If I was you i would continue what your doing.

Maybe someone will chime in on rotating clover. Isn't it recommended every 4-5 years?

You can grow just about anything in that.

Yeah,the gtass is coming back in the bottom field,guess ill have to keep working on it.
