Has anyone seen this new attractant made for a poacher?It even says on the commercial that it was made to keep anyone from seeing it.It literally looks like dirt.What will they put out next?

That was my thought as well when I saw it.

However, with all of the crap I see on the store shelves, it is pretty obvious that a whole lot of folks don't worry about hiding it.

I would be willing to bet that bait sales skyrocket during deer season. Stores do nothing but encourage it.

I wouldn't blame it on the stores, they only sell what people will buy and there are a lot of people stocking up on bait for the season.
 
So bait that looks like dirt? The pro-bait people are getting pretty desperate it looks like to me. It probably doesn't work good in the first place, so I am not worried about it.

Hunting is being on an honor system anyways.
 
there is no telling the inventions I have come up with sitting in a stand.. this is someone like me who had a little too much thinking time.. from a marketing stand point.. sounds like a good idea.. people who would never think of pouring out corn or the other highly visible stuff will buy some of this..
 
From my observations, probably 90% of the deer attractants are sold during deer season. Same goes for minerals. People don't think of this stuff any other time regardless of the fact that the mineral benefits (if any) are for Spring and not Fall.

Also based on my observations, there is no reason for them to even be illegal to hunt over during gun season. Deer don't use minerals/salt/attractants during gun season anyway. I say this based on several cameras being over different sites using all the above year round all the way back to 2002.
 
A customer of mine used some to get some cam pics a month ago. He said the deer ignored it and it became moldy and stinky.

I put out some of the pink sugar radish crush attractant on our farm in KY. The deer ignored it but the coons enjoyed it. The companies that sell this stuff are MARKETING companies, and they are good at it.
 
Wal-Mart has a whole aisle dedicated to these food attractants. BUNCHES of people were buying them over the weekend. Do they know they are illegal? I betchee they do. Do they care? Obviously not. I bet SCN could tell us that these people use the excuse if they get caught, "well I got it at Wal-Mart".
 
About two weeks ago at my local Kroger in Jackson put out a new pallet of "Deer Corn" at the front door. Other stores like Lowes sell it this time of year as well. When the demand for bait around the season becomes so high that stores like this get into the action, it becomes embarrassing for real hunters.
 
Well after reading these post I guess I'm not a real hunter!! LOL I don't hunt over corn or any attractant or bait deer in only because it is against the law! But would I like to, YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!! If that makes me not a hunter then oh well, I have a wife and kids and cant live in the woods everyday to scout my life away!! I hope TN jumps on board with our neighboring states and makes it legal to feed them!! That is just my thoughts and if that offends you real hunters than I'm sorry never meant to!!

No one said you're a non hunter just because you want to bait.You're a non hunter or poacher if you choose to go against the law and illegally kill deer.Heck,I have nothing against baiting as long as its legal.Ever considered growing a foodplot?Just think,if they made baiting legal,what advantage would you have?None in my opinion because every Tom,Richard,and Harry would be baiting.What would make your pile of attractant any better than the other four Joe's on every corner of your property?Imo,if you had time to keep a pile of corn out,you have time to scout.You get out of it what you put into it.
