I've been trying to come up with some different pants to use in food plots that are easier to grow than some of the traditional plants.

One that I think I'm going to try is Milo. Easy to grow, but how much food value will it add? Would it be comparable to corn?

Another is peanuts. How easy are they to grow? And how much food value will they have? Would they be comparable to soybeans?

Anyone had any experience growing these two plant?

Milo? When would you be able to plow it under for fall planting of plots, or do you need to rotate? I planted my 1st plots this fall, and would like to plant for the spring/summer planting season. I was thinking of planting some corn at the back of the farm where my plot is, cause there will be soybeans in the field across the fence on the agri farm behind me next year. Is milo a good food plot choice for deer in the spring?
