I fished with this guy last year. We were catching grouper and snapper inshore, 200 yards from the marsh grass!

Just got back this past weekend from Destin. We went the party boat route this time. Caught some nice snapper, but lost some very big fish due to the stupidity of a couple of morons from Ohio beside me. They even stole our bait we caught the night before and brought with us. If you have time I found a nice little fishing hole under the Destin bridge on the Fort Walton side. Using my freshwater setup with 6 lb test, fish with fresh shrimp and toss it at the pylons of the bridge. Once you get past the Pinfish the Mangrove snapper will be waiting, most will be right at legal size (10 inch, 5 per day) and will fight like a smallmouth. Also in the same area fish the grass beds with live shrimp towards the Coast Guard station for bull Reds and big Trout. The fishing will be best early and late in the day as the area is popular swimming spot.
One other thing, when you head out of the jetties look for stuff floating around.Last week they found a 25 kelo bale of cocaine floating at the end of the west jetty. They said street value was 2.5 million. Now we know why the sand is so white.
I appreciate all the info and tips. Unfortunately, were not able to sgueeze anymore fishing in but had a heck of a trip. The only high dollar coke I saw was in the vending machines. I'll give and update with pics to follow later this wknd when I can post.
