Descenting Climbing Stand

My only storage option during the offseason for my climber is in my garage. Well you know what a garage smells like, exhaust, gasoline, grass clippings, etc.

Other than just hanging it outside to air out, what are some other techniques ya'll use to descent your climber?
Got about three weeks to get everything ready.

My loc-ons sit outside for at least a month before I put them back up for the season to hunt from. I've never sprayed them with anything other than paint after the season if needed.

Mine stays in the garage. You think the stand is the only odor coming from your location? Don't worry about it. Just hunt the wind. That's what mobility is about.

I have considered all of the above mentioned ideas. And I certainly realize that the stand is not the only odor coming from me.
However, I try to be as thorough as I can about my body, clothes/boots, and gear, but I never really considered the stand for some reason.
As thorough as some of ya'll are about scent control, I thought one of you might have a "system" that has worked for you in the past.

I move mine from storage building to outside a few days before hanging.

Just hang it outside ASAP. After it gets rained on a time or two you should be good to go.
I've got all of mine hanging outside now.

I always leave mine outside for as long as I can without it getting rust. I keep mine it my attic. Last year I took all of the cloth and padding off and washed it in scent reducer wash. Also I kept everything I washed in a scent free bag. I probably went overboard. I don't know if it was necessary or not. The way I though was it couldn't hurt anything

I know guys that put their stands in a garbage bag fill it with leaves, grasses ect for a week or two.

I just pull mine out of the storage building hang outside for a week before time to hunt.

I move mine outside about 60 days before season opens. I also spray it off with my waterhose. Then, I spray it with "scent killer" about 1x per week for a few weeks prior to opener.

The evening before each hunt, I normally spray it down as well. The straps get sprayed after walking in, just before I climb the tree.

How often do you wash your hat? Far more scent on your hat than you could ever get on your stand.

Ever consider the amount of scent that accumulates on your release?

Oh God! the release. You can smell one at 8. But how about the scent in your watchband. That is a huge one.

Car wash then scent away spray.

Or just tote it and use it.

What about your nose hairs? One of those gets lose and might as well pack it in.

I put mine outside, and still spray it down with scent killer. And I usually put it up prior to hunting it. My climber is on a tree in one of my early bow spots. I hung it last time I checked my cam.

I have half a dozen different camo hats I rotate through, and the wrist strap on my release gets sprayed daily when Im using it. Same thing for my cotton pull up rope on my stand, sprayed often, as its a scent wick that you handle with dirty sweaty hands most every trip. I also spray my safety harness often.
