currently running a HB helix 7 and want to upgrade to an explore 10 or 12 with the networking so I can use follow contour with my minnkota terrova.
I have read that the Helix 7 and the Explore will cause interference with each other if both are running at the same time. True/False ?
What should I do with the Helix 7 ? I rarely fish from the bow but its not a Never ever thing. If I met someone who could teach me to spider rig for crappie I might use the helix on the bow with the Terrova transducer....
Suggestions?

So if I ran the wide cone on the Explore, I could run the narrow cone on the Helix and they wouldnt interfere ? Did I understand that right?

yep for example 200khz 2d on one and 83khz(or whatever mid chirp) on another, or 455khz si/di on one and 800khz si/di on another or mega si.

If I'm not mistaken you won't be able to network between the hb 7 and the explorer. But you will be able to network to your trolling motor. You may need to get a lakemaster for following the contour lines, I'm not sure what mapping comes with the explorer. May want to check with bluball, he'll know for sure.
