I shot a buck (or shot at a buck) in my food plot. And get this...the doe was following him. In any event, when I shot the buck did a high mule kick. He did not go into the death run like a heart/lung shot deer would do. But from what I have read on-line, when they react in this manner there is a high probability it was a fatal shot. Most likely vitals. Maybe I only hit one lung...I don't know.Any thoughts? Thanks.

Sounds like a hit to me. He might not start bleeding for the first 50-60 yds

Mule kick sounds like a heart shot to me. For whatever reason they seem to really jump when hit in the heart. But also can run farther without the pump to keep the blood flowing.
