I remember buying as many as I could find back in the mid 90's. Trouble was we put em out in the field in the evenings walking out and come back in the mornings and only thing left was the stick. Anybody know what the contents were in them and maybe how to make some?

I heard that they had molasses in'em and some other ingredients. Probably some salt too.

Guess they failed mention that back in Grammer school. Just didn't put it in my head in the present time since you mentioned it Steve.

I remember putting one out one morning back in 92 or 93,and didn't see a deer.Come back after lunch and ran three bucks off eating the thing. As with poleaxe I was only ten or eleven, and didn't know baiting was illegal.

Would be considered as bait in TN.

I know you are right about that but the funny thing to me is that I used them religiously for several years and never ever saw a deer using one. Never. Ants loved them though.

I think they were molasses based.
