I try not to think about deer season until late July (when I need start getting my trail-cams together for August summer census time).
 
My take on deer hunting has really mellowed after years of hunting. I used to count every day and was chomping at the bits to get back to hunting. I'm still serious when I hit the woods and I spend almost all season hunting but I'm no longer in any rush for it to get here. When it does it does and I does.

i echo your sentiment ! the older i get , the days go faster no matter how i try to slow them down and smell the roses.

theres a lotta joy working up loads,shooting and just getting ready for that next trip that fills the gap.
