I live in Hendersonville (TN). I am new to the area. Do any of you live nearby who can recommend a place to have my deer processed this season?

Not exactly near Hendersonville, but Flowers on Eaton Creek Road is who I use. It is near Ashland City Highway and Briley Parkway west of Nashville. I drive from Brentwood to go there. They cut, vaccume package the ham steaks, backstrap and tenderloin, then do the rest in hamburger in 2 lbs packages. They can do breakfast sausage, summer sausage and their beef sticks are great.

I guess I will be 'that guy' who suggests you start doing them yourself. You will know what you are getting. No one will take care of the meat that you and your family will put in their mouth like you will. You can ensure that you are getting what you killed and not someone else's meat. Plus you have the sense of accomplishment that you took it from hunting to the skillet all by yourself.

The first one or two might be a learning curve and take a little longer, but after that you will get a process down and zip through it.

For that matter, you could get away with just having a grinder and butcher paper or freezer bags. I don't own a slicer.

a slicer will spoil u, especially for jerky
