Deer movement

Just curious what everyones thoughts were on deer movement in association with squirrels. Seems on days where i have tons of squirrels going bonkers around me i see very few deer and vice versa.. is this coincidence?

I don't think squirrels are as active with a heavy frost or when the ground is frozen since they are smaller and thus more sensitive to the cold. I think they wait until it warms up on those cold days since their food will be frozen too.

On some days i see lees deer when there is a lot of squirrels playing and running every where .But i got a story .This has be around 10 years ago. It was muzzle loader season and i was in my stand that morning.When i seen a 4pt coming up my 4 wheeler trail.There was a tree that had falling across my trail.Well there was squirrels playing on the tree that was down and this 4 pt walked up to the tree and one of the squirrels jumped on his face.I bet that little buck jumped 6ft in the air the squirrel jumped off him.But the look on that bucks face was priceless.

I haven't noticed any correlation. They seem to do what they want, when they want.

Awesome story wish i could have seen that. I too have wondered if there was a correlation.
