I saw two bucks trailing two DOE (lol) today. The first deer I encountered this morning came in before first light. He scraped right by me before catching my scent and running off. Shortly after two doe trotted through and a 2.5 8 followed a few minutes behind. An hour later two more doe trotted by and a 120ish 3.5 8 followed.

It is certainly the time to start hunting hard!

Sunday and Monday looked promising for this week with young bucks chasing and mature bucks showing up on cameras cruising . But After the warm up I had a few mature bucks at scrapes at night and that's it . Daytime activity really shut down starting Tuesday . Of course the weather has been terrible . I'm hoping tomorrow morning will be better and I get a chance a good one with a bow before the smoke poles start .

Yesterday i had a decent 8 in my pasture beside the drive with a doe in the pouring rain at 3. I was just getting home backed up to do a double take at around 75 yards and he never cared a bit. Just stayed behind her about 20 yards the whole time. They finally eased into the woods about 20 minutes later.

How dare you use the word DOE to imply more than one. That is just blasphemy.

On a better note, Monday morning i seen 5 bucks, 4 of which were on the tails of DOE.

This morning I was getting ready to leave and had two does within 60 yards of the house. One got to within about 30 and all of a sudden they looked out in the field in front of the house. Well a buck came up and jumped the fence. He chased one into the woods and after a few minutes came back and sniffed around the other. When we were pulling down the driveway which was about thirty minutes later, a bigger what looked to be a 6-8 pointer came running through. Dang having to take a family trip, but hunting will be there next weekend.

Dad and I sat till about 11 this morning...we saw 14 between the two of us but nothing more than little bucks pestering does. I do have numerous pics of a 5.5 yr old buck on his feet well after daylight the last several days but all he's doing is heading to bed after filling his belly all night. I'll be in that area tomorrow for sure.

On my way home from work this am I saw one of the best bucks I have ever seen here in Scott.County chasing a doe right beside Hwy 27. There were other DOE (lol) in the field but he was just dogging the one. Several others seen him to, hope to get a shot as its my in-laws land!
