Deer meat- catfish bait

I have some freezer burned deer meat. Do you think the cats would bite at it?

Yep. Let it sit out and get good and ripe.

Yes, blue cats just like dead meat... any kind of dead meat. I think they more prefer light meat (chicken) because it more closely imitates their natural foods (fish, mussels), but I have personally caught cats on similar freezer burnt duck breasts.

And with respect, I disagree with TNRazorback. No need to let it get ripe. In my experience cats prefer "fresh" dead meat.

I agree all I've ever got from "ripe" meat is some laughs seeing weaker stomached people gag a little

I too agree, fresh meat. Heck one of the best baits is skipjack still flipping when you cut it into steaks.
